Definition
Biodiversity (= "Biological Diversity") is the total variety of all species in any given area. It is a very valuable means of measuring the health of that natural area.
Biodiversity Conservation is the practice of protecting and preserving the abundance and variety (biodiversity) of all species, regardless of classification, of ecosystems, and of genetic diversity, on the planet. |

Hey, all:
After six months with no response or opposition, I made the change I suggested. David Messages done with sustainable energy, with Wind and Sun! |

Suggested Change in Definition
Hey, all: Is anyone else a little uncomfortable or unsatisfied with the definition including the phrase "...all species of plants and animals..."? Would it not be better if instead it read perhaps "...all species regardless of classification..."? This is more inclusive, as it covers all lifeforms, and not limited to plants and animals. It just seems appropriate. David Messages done with sustainable energy, with Wind and Sun! |
