Definition
Land use policy refers to the practice of creating new regulations and practices, and of changing existing ones that have been adopted by a government or an organization, and that govern activity related to land use and planning, through electoral politics, bond issues, referenda, private land purchase, campaigning, lobbying, advocacy and direct action.

The International Land Coalition is a global alliance of intergovernmental, governmental and civil-society organizations. Maryland Land Conservation Center The Maryland Environmental Trust (MET) assists citizen groups in the formation and operation of local land trusts by offering training, technical assistance, administrative grants and real estate acquisition loans, through membership in the Maryland Land Trust Alliance (MLTA), an informal association of national, state, regional and local land conservation organizations working in Maryland.
