Sustainable cities are characterized by improved public health and a better quality of life for all the residents by limiting waste, preventing pollution, maximizing conservation, promoting efficiency, and developing healthy regional economic development and vibrant communities. Integrated planning and design are key elements of developing sustainable cities and communities.
