Sustainable green building is the practice of constructing buildings using environmentally responsibly produced materials and techniques that minimize the environmental impact of the building throughout its lifetime. We have an position open at homeWORD, an affordable housing non-profit that builds all of its projects using green building principles. Chris Allen was on the board, so I am visiting his site to see if I can collect interested people in an amazing organization in Missoula Montana that connects sustainability with affordability.

If this section were labelled Green Building, and the word Sustainable the above opening paragraph would stand. A definition of Sustainable Building needs to be wider and include e.g. the role and purpose of buildings in developing a society with greater social capital or the scope for design to contribute to healthier population.
