Introduction with an Advanced Training Module
February 24th - 29th, 2008

This course is being offered as both an Introduction to Permaculture Design
and as an Advanced Course for those who are wanting to refine their
skills and go deeper into the main principles and practices of Permaculture Design.
Also time will be available to rest and recharge in the healing Hot Springs of Esalen.
This workshop will explore the design principles and strategies of
Permaculture, a holistic approach that gives you practical tools
for being apart of the solution. Permaculture teaches how to design
human systems that follow the natural patterns and wisdom of
indigenous ways—energy-efficient methods to integrate food, water
shelter, and landscape to enhance the environment and create a fully
sustainable system.
For those who have already versed in Permaculture Design and would like a renewal
to the core aspects of this design system, this course will offer new insights to how
Permaculture is being applied to many areas of our culture today.
Permaculture designers and educators and Benjamin Fahrer,
Kat Steele and Mia Rose Maltz will facilitate this dynamic course
That will cover a wide variety of solution-based topics, including:
• Permaculture site application ~ Home-scale to Village scale
• Effectively reading the ecological and social landscape
• Water harvesting, greywater and drought-proofing methods
• Intentional localized community development & eco-village design
• Hands-on Soil building and restoration techniques
• Alliances with fungi ~ myco-restoration and gardening techniques
• Land stewardship and property management planning
• Planning and designing for our future social and climatic changes
• Food foresting and perennial polyculture systems, Design and implementation
This seminar is open to anyone wanting to help create a more just, sacred
and sustainable future. It is time that we start taking full responsibility for our
actions—for ourselves, our children, and the seven generations to come. Join us
for this Amazing educational experience!
Seminar Fees: $575-$1120. Depending on accommodations.
