About  [Edit]

Program
  • How can (has) integration of knowledge systems inform(ed) science, education, capacity building, conservation, sustainable development, decision making and policy?
  • How do we consider and distinguish indigenous knowledge, traditional knowledge, science, pseudo-science, and anti-science?
  • What are the power structures inherent in science and traditional knowledge?
  • How can integration of knowledge systems be facilitated? To what advantage?

Symposium format
The symposium will take place over two days, with a morning and afternoon session on each day. Sessions will
begin with a series of introductory talks followed by a number of discursive workshops on critical issues for
integrating knowledge systems. In addition to the workshops, there will be an area set aside for posters and
displays/demonstrations.
