Jon Ramer just put this over on goverance maybe subtlely hinting for me to quell my enthusiasm re the wiservid idea... seems like good guidelines... my apologies if I went overboard there with that idea... in my defense I did not start the marketing disscussion though and was just adding on to/ fleshing out an idea i got a response on from the party that initatied the disscussion... i think it is a great idea and would really effectively deliver CHANGE in the direction of a WISEREARTH peace |

There is a "Discussion" going on in the 'Consciousness Shift' group under the 'Topic: Across Interest and Expertise' which has 21 postings, 20 of which are by David Braden who began the discussion. Most of what is there is David's thought of things he has brought from other sources.
At what point do Administrators or Editors make a judgement call about things being more pontificating than allowing for discussion -- especially when no one else has joined in -- and what's the "best" whay to handle it?
Move it to a Wikipage?... inform the party its not really a discussion!... Lock it up? Remove it?...

WiserEarth does have some Community guidelines
http://www.wiserearth.org/article/e6d1e607f6e29b9f3bf253d61edd9c92
however, they are not as extensive as TechSoups which are divided in 13 steps (and each one is very detailed - see the Tech Soup website for more info http://techsoup.org/community/standards/index.cfm
Does the WiserEarth community need more extensive guidelines for the WiserEarth site to ensure that 1) people stay on topic 2) are able to report abuses...etc ?
