7 Mar 2008 A Request to Members on Dates of Events--Please use abbreviations of months, instead of numbers. Dates with numbers only are confusing, since 7/3/08 can either be 7 Mar 2008 or 3 Jul 2008. In most parts of the world, dates are arranged day-month-year, so using the month abbrevation instead of just numbers is a big help!
25 Feb 2008 Rob asked about "Chicken Tractors" (no, it's not the biggest GMO "draft-chickens" you can imagine pulling a plow), so if you have experience or want more, dive in (or give it a scratch)!!
The "Composting" Discussion needs some help--Sunday wants to know if office paper, with toner, ink, etc. included, plays well with others in compost. Also, a lot of suggestions made on compost management could use some more explanation or background.
With the majority of the population in most areas of the world living in cities (Dacca, Bangladesh has grown to 50 million people--50,000,000!) Urban Farming has great valiidity. Offer your knowledge!.
8 Feb 2008 Ernest "JPMS" has added a discussion "Helping Co-Create a Successful Group" which everyone should read and respond to. It has great potential to improve our group, for everyone's benefit, proportional to the number and quality of responses. Please share your ideas.
The organization "Saving Our Seeds" was added by Linda Moore, and is a fine one among 100s worldwide working to preserve the natural integrity of the world's seed stock. With threats from "Big Agrobidness" such as "Terminator Technology", Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), arbitrary governmental dictates that seeds cannot be saved from agricultural crops (a practice used since humans BEGAN raising plants!), preserving the existence and integrity of seeds is absolutely vital.
