Active since 1989, Darina seeks to promote democratic values and a vibrant civil society in Obninsk and the Kaluga region. Darina conducts courses on the principles of democracy and free market economies for teachers, high school students and the general public. It has organized a training course for teachers of civic education, seminars for leaders of public organizations, and a conference on the experiences of democratization in the Obninsk region. Darina also works with members of the regional mass media and publishes a newsletter on democracy.
