About [Edit]
The average South African youth spends on average only 8 years in an educational institute. Most of them roam the streets from the age of 8 and by the age of 12 - are seasoned pickpockets or school/ class jumpers and playing truant. Only a few (guided by parents) have the luxury of attending some private school if not the financial 'liberty' to be counted among those that can afford school fees to attend a local/ government school.
So, Puso the elephant intends changing the status quo for talented youth out on the streets by using those gifts to financially empower them to realise their dreams and assist them to achieve their potential through exhibitions of their work. Puso the Elephant is an educational tool to TRANSFORM a life 'deemed' useless and wasteful into a beautiful dream that every child deserves by using film/ perfoming arts, books and stories of our ghettos by engaging youth in activities from their experiences and through their eyes.
Its important for Africans to remember who they are, where they come from and where they're headed and Puso (Kingdom/ reign) intends to keep a constant reminder to the township Soweto/ Khayelitsha/ Ulundi/ Katlehong/ Kagiso youth that - You've had a glorious beginning, it's time to return the glory back to Africa'... the land of the Pharaoh'.
