About  [Edit]

Achieving a Sustainable Planet by 2020

The 2020 Fund is a hybrid global philanthropic and social venture investment platform. The Fund is dedicated to high-leverage investments in critical market infrastructure projects and enterprises (e.g. C2020.net,, 2020 Metrics, Communications, and Advanced Technology Projects). In addition to its core investors, the 2020 Fund will source and manage a network of aligned funds.

To date, the Fund has operated in the philanthropic investment realm raising and producing action-based research projects. The Fund’s intention is to expand to include commercial social investments. For ease of administration, the Fund currently operates under the auspices of the King of Baudouin (King of Belgium) Foundation, US (KBFUS), a 501(c)3 organization leading the development of effective international philanthropy.

c2020.net Online Hub coming soon!

The C2020.net Website is an online hub that will provide the inspiration, information, tools, and project resources necessary to implement principles of Sustainable Development (SD) throughout the world. As a premier web portal, it is designed to attract a range of users, including SD organizations, movement leaders, companies, government agencies, academic foundations, and the general public.

The Global Stakeholder Panel (GSP) Initiative

In order to build a compelling vision and action plan for achieving the future people want, we invited leaders from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government, and business to participate in our 2020 Global Stakeholder Panel. A series of quantitative surveys of the Panel are being used to identify priorities, explore possible solutions and develop broadly supported sustainability-based action plans. At every stage, results are being widely communicated to encourage ever-greater involvement and to influence global debate and action.
