About

We have been publishing "sustainability" information for the past 11 years on the central coast of california. The subtitle of HOPEDANCE is "radical solutions inspiring hope." We report on the outrageous pioneering activities of individuals and organizations within our region (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Mendocino, Monterey, Sonoma and Ventura counties) as well as outside our region. Basically the publication exists to create seeds of ideas and practical solutions to these urgent times. We have published special issues on numerous activities: ecovillages, permacutlure, media, affordable and sustainable housing, transportation, water, peak oil, transformation. We also have a very aggressive film screening campaign in both San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara where we collaborate with other groups to show a film and have discussions afterwards. Films about plitics, globalization, solutions, sustainability, spirituality, transformation, sustainable living, intentional communities... We have had numerous film "festivals" featuring speakers, groups of films on a similar topic like : Relocalization, Media, Biking, Globalization, Solutions.....

The purpose of HopeDance (www.hopedance.org) is simply to report on the outrageous, pioneering and inspiring activities of outstanding individuals and organizations who are creating a new world--regardless of their spiritual tradition or political agenda.

We publish material and engage in activities (forums, workshops, film festivals...) that are necessary in building ecologically sustainable, practical, down-to-earth solutions, holistic, healthy and awakened community.

Inspiring genuine hope, our intention is to also help connect people to specific projects, individuals, and organizations so that dialogue, wisdom, and vital action will be the fruitful outcome for the people, plants, animals and land in San Luis Obispo County, Ventura County and Santa Barbara County... and beyond.
