About
The huge web above is drawn together by my passionately holistic worldview: in a world of specialization and focus on detail, I like to look wide and deep - to connect people, ideas and solutions that may appear unconnected. (The list would probably look quite different if I did it again tomorrow!) I look for unexamined assumptions (my own and others') and seek to set them aside and say "what if?" ... to contribute to what Van Jones calls the 'velcro' or 'lego' of the transformation of which we are part. I trained in science, economics and information, worked in banking, finance and journalism, and have run a successful internet consultancy for some years. I am always seeking opportunities to combine a "big-picture" approach to ideas and policy with a practical enthusiasm for planning and action.
I am a trained facilitator for the "Change the Dream" symposium - the UK version of "Awakening the Dreamer". It is the most powerful and authentic initiative I have yet found for articulating and sharing my own commitment to "bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling human presence on this planet as a guiding principle for our times". It embraces the extraordinary transformative opportunity we have - "to live the most meaningful lives human beings have ever lived" (David Ulansey) - and pointed me to this amazing website. Over 15 years of action for transformation, I have been inspired by the work of E.F. Schumacher, Hazel Henderson, Paul Hawken, IONS, The New Economics Foundation, John Perkins, Satish Kumar, Alex Grey, Ernesto Sirolli, Manfred Max-Neef... in no particular order, and among many, many others.
