About
How did I end up on WiserEarth? Through my volunteer position at Pathways To Peace (PTP), the California-based non-profit organization that is serving as International Secretariat for the Culture of Peace Initiative (CPI), and its annual highlight, International Day of Peace, September 21.
How did I end up at Pathways To Peace? My husband, Noak, got a job as computer geek in the Bay Area six years ago, and I decided to come with him from Sweden. With a Bachelor's Degree in political science, I figured there would be lots of progressive organizations that could use an extra (free) hand. Peace and environment are closest to my heart, so that's what I've been focusing on the last few years. I've done research about environmental health issues for Environment California and worked as operations manager for PTP. Currently I'm coordinating CPI when I'm not taking care of our daughter Vilja, who was born in 2006.
How did I end up with Noak? I was discussing what movie to watch with my friends in school back in 1984, when Noak sat down next to me and asked if I had seen "Dead Zone". That's how it started.
Peace!
